For general entertainment channels, a good soap stirred with the right ingredients and talented cast rarely fails in striking the right chord with viewers.

Big game-shows and talent hunts help accumulate points, but it is the daily serial that is the real turf – where channels fight it out for big scores.

For serial fans, Maa TV is now readying itself for new soaps, and its viewers can look forward to two fresh offerings in the coming weeks. Current serials Ramulamma and Ashta Chamma have been doing well in the race for ratings, and consistently delivering 6+ TVRs, the channel says.

Upward ho

Young host Pradeep has been creating waves of late with some successful shows on the small screen. One of them is Koncham touchlo unte chepta on Zee Telugu that picked up quite effortlessly on popularity charts.

The show that airs on weekends has successfully roped in some big names from the cine screen, and has Pradeep quizzing them on interesting aspects of their lives. From Naga Chaitanya and Allari Naresh to Kajal Aggarwal and Swati, several stars unravel themselves in a leisurely fashion on the show.
