Tension prevailed for some time as fumes emanated from the bus in which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was travelling from Madhurapudi airport to Cherukuri Kalyana Mandapam in Rajahmundry on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Naidu arrived at the Madhurapudi airport in a special helicopter from Hyderabad and took a bus to reach the venue to participate in the World Disabled Day programme. When the convoy was taking a 'U' turn near Lalacheruvu, the driver noticed fumes coming out of the engine.

He stopped the bus immediately and alerted the security personnel who arranged a car to enable Mr. Naidu to reach the venue and participate in the scheduled programme. \

The District administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
