‘Skills hold key to electronics sector’

APSSDC conducts workshop at SV University

Focus on ‘skill development’ by State and Central governments is all set to benefit the electronics manufacturing sector the most.

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) organised a workshop on ‘Electronics systems design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector’ at Sri Venkateswara University on Monday for the principals of polytechnic, degree and postgraduate colleges offering electronics, electrical, computer science and Information Technology courses with the aim of identifying skill development centres.

APSSDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ganta Subba Rao spoke on the strides made by the State in the areas of information technology and communication, while stressing the need to focus on strengthening the domestic manufacturing sector.SVU Vice-Chancellor W. Rajendra recalled the conduct of ‘Pragna’, a programme organised by the varsity in the past. wherein 9th to 12th standard students were allowed into the laboratories.

Principals told to upgrade skills of students in electronics and electrical technology and infuse novel thinking among them
