Sharmila slams Naidu-Pawan duo

May 05, 2014 12:35 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:56 pm IST - RAMPACHODAVARAM:

YSRC leader Y.S. Sharmila on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Chandrababu Naidu-Pawan Kalyan duo here and said they were touring the State like a newly-wedded couple.

“Naidu is ready to stoop to any level to come to power and he is taking the help of movie star Pawan Kalyan to do so,” Ms. Sharmila said.

Addressing a large gathering of tribal people here, she said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was taking advantage of every opportunity and fooling people with false promises.

Ms. Sharmila took serious exception to Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement of making a Kapu or a minority community leader the deputy Chief Minister and said that he was dividing the State on a communal basis. She alleged that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had made a failed experiment like ‘Maha Kutami’ and now he was banking on ‘Maya (illusion) Front’. She also made sarcastic comments on the film actor Balakrishna, and described him as a ‘lunatic’.

She criticised former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and said that he had sabotaged all the welfare schemes introduced by the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. She held Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy responsible for the present power crisis and said that his government levied Rs.32, 000 crore of power surcharge on people.

Vanthala Rajeswari, Rampachodavaram Assembly YSRC candidate and party activist Anantha Udayabhaskar participated in the meeting.
