SCR bags six performance efficiency shields

South Central Railway created a record, bagging All India Performance Efficiency Shields in six disciplines. The awards were received by General Manager Ravindra Gupta and Principal heads of departments from Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu at a function in Bhubaneswar on Saturday during the 61{+s}{+t}Railway Week celebrations.

Also present at the function was Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha. The six efficiency shields awarded to the SCR were for Comprehensive Healthcare, Stores, Commercial, Civil Engineering, Safety and Environment Management. Also, the Nandyal Running Room of Guntur Division was adjudged Second Best on Indian Railways.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Suresh Prabhu said that the workforce of the Indian Railways was its asset and rewarding best performers would go a long way in motivating employees to perform better. He conveyed his best wishes to the 13 lakh Railway employees and expressed confidence that the Indian Railways had a glorious future. The six shields apart, four of the SCR’s personnel got individual Outstanding Service Awards. They include Senior Divisional Operations Manager (Secunderabad) P. Chaitanya, Senior Divisional Engineer (Guntakal) M. Ramesh Kumar, Senior Section Engineer-Signals (Secunderabad) D. Jayakar and Senior Technician, Electric Loco Shed, Lallaguda, S. Tarakeswara Rao.

Also, Secretary to Chief Commercial Manager, K. Hari Kishore was awarded as the Joint Winner of English Essay Competition in the Gazetted category, while Office Superintendent, IRISET, Feroze Fathima, for the award in the Non-Gazetted category.
