TTD gifts traditonal ‘sare’ for Godavari Pushkaralu. In what is called the first of its kind the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Thursday formally conferred the divine ‘Sare’ to River Godavari in connection with the auspicious Pushkaralu scheduled to commence from July 14.

Shobha yatra

‘Sare’ - a set of congeries consisting of turmeric, vermilion, silk saree, and bangles (generally awarded to married women as per Hindu tradition) – will be presented to the River Godavari on behalf of the Tirumala temple at Rajahmundry on the first day of the Pushkaralu.

After placing the ‘sare’ articles at the divine feet of the presiding deity Lord Venkateswara TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao and JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju carried them in a grand procession (Shobha Yatra) to the Vaibhavotsava mandapam from where it was flagged off in Ratham of TTD.
