Pomp and splendour marked the valedictory ceremony of the first inter-house athletic meet of Sainik School at Kalikiri, here on Saturday.
NCC Headquarters (Tirupati) Group Commander Col. Rajeev Negi, who presided over as the chief guest of the event, spoke on the importance of sports in the school curriculum. Appreciating the school’s initiative for according equal importance to academics and sports, Mr. Negi said that physical activity would develop the spirit of endurance, will power and mental stability in the cadets.
School Principal Col. R.A. Alagarraj urged the students to continue their interest and enthusiasm in the rest of their lives, as it would help them in developing physical stamina and inculcate a true spirit of sportsmanship.

A splendid and well synchronised PT display followed by house-wise march past hogged the limelight. Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of various athletic events.
