RTC set to pamper travellers

April 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - TIRUPATI:

Passengers will soon have a new travel experience in APSRTC buses. The corporation is not only steadily increasing air-conditioned services to high-demand destinations, but also introducing value-added services, which are hitherto unheard of, to woo passengers. Apart from the soothing feel of fresheners, the value-added services include face-wash packs and 500 ml water bottles. Passengers who are worried about hair fall, dandruff and oil stains on seats can sleep comfortably, as the head rest covers will be changed for every trip.

Services from Tirupati to Hyderabad had witnessed a decline post-bifurcation. In fact, the two sleeper services launched on the Tirupati-Hyderabad route were dispensed with owing to lack of patronage.

“While there are six ‘Indra’ buses making 12 round trips to Chennai, we are operating additional services every Sunday to cope with weekend rush,” says T. Chengal Reddy, Deputy Chief Traffic Manager, Tirupati. RTC will also introduce two ‘Indra’ air-conditioned buses to Bengaluru soon.
