Rs. 13 crore released for Sambaralu

The Sate government has released Rs.1 crore each to all the 13 districts the State to organise the Sankranti Sambaralu in a grand manner, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said.

Reviewing the arrangements for the festival in Kakinada on Friday with in-charge Collector and Joint Collector R. Mutyala Raju and other senior officials, the Minister said that the amount had been released to the Department of Culture which would distribute it among the departments involved in the festival.

He suggested the Collector to organise special competitions in villages focusing the rural sports such as kabadi, volleyball and contests for women on culinary skills, drawings and rangoli.

Reviewing the arrangements for distribution of “Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka”, he asked the officials to ensure proper distribution of the gift packs through village committees. He insisted that boards displaying the details of the stock be put up at the fair price shops. The Minister instructed the officials to complete the distribution of packets by January 12 .
