Elections for the ZPTC and MPTC positions in 33 mandals of Ranga Reddy district will be held in two phases this month, on April 6 and April 11 respectively, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
In the first phase, elections will be held for 16 ZPTC and 303 MPTC positions in 16 mandals while in the second phase, the remaining 17 mandals will go to polls for 17 ZPTC and 311 MPTC positions, District Collector B. Sreedhar said at a press conference here on Friday.
A total of 1,110 polling stations have been identified for the elections in the first phase, while the number will be 935 for the second phase.
Of these, 165 have been recognised as hypersensitive and 215 as sensitive.
Arrangements have been made for webcasting and videography while a total of 228 micro-observers have been appointed for sensitive polling stations.
Distribution and reception centres are arranged at Mandal Parishad offices for distribution of election material.
A total of 2,045 polling officers, the same number of assistant polling officers and 6,135 other polling personnel have been issued appointment letters, and training has been imparted to themin two phases, Mr. Sreedhar informed.
Ranga Reddy District Collector has declared a holiday for public and private establishments on the polling days.
