The Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) has mooted a novel idea of presenting the red sanders saplings to the offices of the Superintendent of Police in Rayalaseema, Nellore, and Prakasam districts in the forests of which red sanders trees are present in over ten lakh hectares.

Task Force head and DIG M. Kantha Rao on Thursday planted the red sanders saplings at its newly inaugurated office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police at Railway Kodur in Kadapa district.

Speaking to the media, the DIG said that red sanders trees were also planted at the Puligorupenta base camp near Railway Kodur. He said that already the SP offices of Nellore and Prakasam were presented with three and five plants each. “The presence of red sanders trees at the district police headquarters would play a vital role in creating a sense of belonging among the police for the red sanders wealth,,” the official said.
