Rebels’ threat is looming large for all the political parties in the elections to various Assembly constituencies in Karimnagar district after the completion of filing of nominations on Wednesday.
The Congress is having rebels threat from Korutla, Vemulawada, Ramagundam, Huzurabad and Peddapalli Assembly segments. The BJP is having rebels threat from Korutla, Husnabad and Karimnagar Assembly segments. Similarly, the TRS is having threat from Manthani, and Ramagundam Assembly segments.
The Korutla Congress leaders J. Narsinga Rao and Dr. Venkat have filed their nominations as independents following the non-allocation of ticket to them and allocating party ‘B’ form to former legislator Komireddy Ramulu from Korutla segment.
BJP leader Dr. Raghu has also filed his nomination as independent following denial of party ticket. BJP had fielded Surabhi Bhum Rao from Korutla Assembly segment.
In Vemulawada Assembly segment, Congress leader E. Manohar Reddy filed his nomination as independent against the official candidate Bomma Venkateshwar. In Ramagundam Assembly segment, Congress leader Kaushik Hari, TRS leader K. Chander and TDP leader G. Ilaiah Yadav have filed their nominations as independents in protest against their respective parties for not allocating party tickets to them.
Former Congress legislator G. Mukund Reddy filed his nomination as independent in protest against the party from Peddapalli Assembly segment. The Congress had fielded MLC T.Bhanu Prasad Rao from Peddapalli Assembly segment.
Jammikunta market committee chairman and Congress leader T. Sammi Reddy filed his nomination as rebel from Huzurabad Assembly segment as the party allocated ticket to K. Sudarshan Reddy.
In Manthani Assembly segment, TRS rebel Chandrupatla Sunil Reddy filed his nomination as independent. In Karimnagar Assembly segment, BJP leader E.Vijayender Reddy filed his nomination as independent in protest against the non-allocation of party ticket.
Mr. Vijayender Reddy was informed allocating the party ticket from Husnabad Assembly segment. However, the BJP ‘B’ form was handed over to Devishetti Srinivas Rao at the last minute.
