The Real-Time Governance Centre, which was inaugurated recently at the Secretariat, has helped the police and administration rescue an abducted infant within 48 hours.

According to a release, the infant, daughter of Ganta Lakshmi and Ramana of Kakinada, was found missing at Kakinada GGH on November 23 and a complaint was lodged with the police.

The police who swung into action accessed the CCTV footage from the hospital and the Command Control Centre in Kakinada.

While the search operation was on, the footage was sent for forensic analysis and the details were sent all over the State through social media and instant messaging apps from the RTG centre.

Thirty hours later, the police identified movement of the suspect and zeroed in on the location. The accused was identified as P. Ramana, wife of Srinivas, who stole the baby since she had no children. The accused is a staff nurse working at a private hospital.
