A rally was taken out on Thursday to commemorate the Pushkara Ghat incident that occurred the same day last year where 28 persons died in a stampede on the first day of the Godavari Maha Pushkarams.

The rally was organised by Muppalla Subba Rao, member of Bar Council of A.P and State president of APCLA, from the Gokavaram bus stand to Pushkara Ghat.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subba Rao said the government had not taken any action but for appointing a commission to probe into the matter. The period of the commission was extended twice as the government failed to produce any evidence.

Rajamahendravaram former MLA and YSRC leader Routhu Surya Prakasa Rao said the government had failed to take any action against the officials responsible for the incident. He vowed to fight until justice was done to the stampede victims.

Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi and Sharmila Reddy of YSRC, Aruna of CPI(M), Nalla Rama Rao of CPI, N.V. Srinu of INC and others are participated in the rally.
