Rosaiah reviews progress; asks officials to refund deposit if sought by applicants

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah asked the Rajiv Swagruha Housing Corporation to refund the money to applicants who wish to withdraw their deposits in view of the delay in implementing the housing programme. Speaking to reporters, Housing Minister C. Shilpa Mohan Reddy said 14,000 out of 1.76 lakh Rajiv Swagruha applicants sought refund of the deposit (Rs. 5,000) and their plea would be complied with soon. The money would be refunded after deducting the fee collected at the prescribed level. He said the price of flats under Rajiv Swagruha, tentatively quoted at Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 14 lakh depending on the plinth area, would be reduced.
