The superintendent engineer (SE) of AP Transco S. Gangadhar said that the Energy department will complete works related to streamlining the power supply during Godavari Pushkaram by first week of May next year.
He admitted that Hudhud cyclone works had delayed the launch works relating to Godavari Pushkaram, but the department was committed to take up works on a war footing in a couple of weeks.
Rs. 7-cr lossAddressing media conference on Wednesday, he said East Godavari EPDCL incurred loss of Rs. 7 crore due to Hudhud cyclone. The department registered losses in Jaggampeta, Tondangi, Tuni, Kotananduru, Konapapapeta and Rampachodavaram Agency areas in East Godavari.
He said 11 divisional engineers, 36 ADEs, 115 AEs, 32 sub-engineers, 3,300 labour and staff had been deputed to cyclone affected north-Andhra. Restoration works with an estimated Rs. 62 crore had been completed so far and these included repairs to 45 sub-stations with capacity of 33/11 kv capacity, 1,099 kms 11 kv lines, 33 kv feeders 25 and 3,374 electric poles with a height of 9.1 meters and another 8,324 poles of 8 meters height were erected by East Godavari labour.
