"How can the CM visit the district when he opposes the formation of Telangana?"

Andhra Pradesh Congress MP from Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar caused quite a stir in political circles by holding out a dire threat to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy saying that he would “finish him” when he visits Karimnagar to participate in the inauguration of Sripada Yellampalli project in Ramagundam mandal. Reacting to a question at a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Ponnam gestured with his hands to indicate that he would shoot the helicopter in which the Chief Minister would arrive at Karimnagar. “How can he visit the district when he is opposing the formation of separate Telangana state?” he asked.

Accusing the Chief Minister of being responsible for various irregularities in the past few months, the Congress MP demanded an inquiry into the decisions taken by the Chief Minister’s office after the Congress Working Committee made the announcement on Telangana on July 30.

Sangareddy Staff Reporter writes:

Government Whip T. Jayaprakash Reddy, referring to the MP’s remarks, said people did not want leaders like Mr. Prabhakar. He said they wanted a separate State and development, but not any sort of destruction.
