The jurisdiction of each Deputy Superintendent of Police and Circle Inspector of Police is being reorganised in the wake of reorganisation of the Assembly constituencies, said Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.

The police department in the State is in for a major overhaul with the massive recruitment, addition of infrastructure and modernisation of force. She was addressing the gathering at Madikonda after inaugurating the police station constructed at a cost of Rs.50 lakh here on Saturday.

Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government has recruited 45,000 jobs in police department and is ready to set up new police stations as and when the Superintendents of Police send their new proposals across the State.

Henceforth, all the police stations will have a new women counter to deal with the women petitioners exclusively. New women police stations will also be set up wherever required, she said.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice P. Balram Naik said the centre has sanctioned Rs.30 crore for Warangal district for development of areas affected by the extremists. In-charge Minister R.Venkat Reddy and BC Welfare Minister Baswaraju Saraiah and others lauded the efforts of the police personnel in maintaining law and order.
