POCSO invoked against teacher

Police have booked a Telugu pandit in a state-run school at Chilakapadu village, near Santhanuthalapadu under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint from a schoolgirl on Monday. A seventh standard student complained the matter to the school head master who in turn approached the S.N.Padu police.

“We have booked a case under POCSO Act and are investigating into the matter'', Superintendent of Police Ch. Srikant said. S.N.Padu SI Kisore Babu said probe revealed that the girl was asked by Telugu pandit Anjaneyulu to collect a writing pad from the school computer lab. When she was frantically searching for the pad, which was not there, the teacher had allegedly committed the offence, the SI said.
