Popular Telugu film actor and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Sunday and reportedly discussed the injustice meted out to the State in the Union Budget.
The need to exert pressure on the Centre to implement various provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act was also believed to have figured in the meeting which lasted more than one-and-half hours at the residence of Mr. Naidu.
According to the film actor’s close aides, Mr. Pawan Kalyan would be touring the Capital Region in AP on Monday or Tuesday, and his meeting with Mr. Naidu was in connection with the visit.
He would speak to representatives of different sections in regard to the land pooling exercise launched by the AP government, apart from broadly discussing the modalities of land acquisition and amendments being proposed to the Land Acquisition Act.
His aides revealed that he was upset at the ‘injustice’ to AP and Telangana in the Union Budget. Following his visit to the Capital Region in AP, Mr. Pawan was planning to visit New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Central BJP leaders over the neglect of AP and Telangana by the Centre. He was expected to take up the issue of granting Special Category status to AP and seek funds for development.
