Operation Muskan-II: Over 50 children rescued

Over 50 children in the age group of 2 to 15 years, including girls, were rescued at various mandals in tail-end Chittoor district, particularly in rural areas, during the second phase of the Operation Muskan.

ICDS District Officer S. Lakshmi, told The Hindu that the Chittoor district administration undertook the phase on July 9, and it would continue it till July 18.

The project officer said special focus was laid on the border areas with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in view of the large scale migrant population. On Tuesday and Wednesday, nine children, including a 2-year-old girl child, were rescued in Shantipuram and Kuppam.
