The Union Ministry of Textiles is organising a handicrafts show Gandhi Shilp Bazar at TTD Kalyana Mantapam till April 1.

Craftsmen from over 10 States are exhibiting and selling products, showcasing their traditional craftsmanship and skill.

According to organisers S. Zilani, Manager and Dharma Raj, Assistant Instructor with the Ministry of Textiles, in all 150 stalls were set up and a majority of them are occupied by fabric sellers.

Pochampalli, Narayanpet, Dharmavaram, Ponduru and Gadwal are some of the prominent categories being exhibited. Apart from fabrics, wood carvings from Srikalahasti and lacquer-ware toys from Yetikoppaka and terracotta pottery from Madanapalli were displayed at the exhibition. The wooden partitions and corner stands from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh was another attractive art-piece in the wood category.

Mr. Zilani said no amount was charged for the craftsmen to occupy the stall as the intention was to create a platform for them to sell their wares.
