Not even software works for them

Though the district machinery has asked farmers to submit their Aadhaar cards and other details, the ryots are unlikely to be eligible for crop loan waiver going by the guidelines issued by the government.

Bankers say the AP government at the SLBC meeting had clearly stated that loans availed by farmers who owned agricultural lands in the State and had availed loans from bank branches located in AP alone will be eligible for waiver.

Moreover, the software will not accept if the bank, person and the land do not fall under the State. This category of loans is likely to be considered at later phases.

However, in respect of farmers in seven mandals of Khammam district, notified to be included in Andhra Pradesh, will not face any problem. The government will consider their loans though they have availed loans from banks outside the State.
