Budding technocrats should think and act innovatively to make a mark in their chosen field, according to Dr. J.V.R. Murthy, CSE Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.

Inaugurating the national-level ‘Students Meet QIS FEST 2015’ here on Thursday, he said: “Creative thinking is imperative for students to come out with good quality research paper. Though students browse the net to acquire knowledge, most of them reproduce the contents without application of mind.”

Speaking on the occasion, QIS Group president N. Nageswara Rao underscored the need for honing soft skills. “A festival of this kind will go a long way in nurturing the innate talent of students,” QISCET secretary and correspondent N. Surya Kalyan Chakravarthy said.

QIS College of Engineering and Technology principal Dr. K. Veera Swamy said more than 600 papers would be presented on emerging areas of technology by students from various engineering colleges.

As many as 1,000 students are participating in the fest, he added.
