PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the process of bifurcation of the State is on, and that it has no connection with the A.K. Antony Committee.
“The committee is the internal committee of the party to look into the issues raised by the leaders of the different regions. The views expressed in the committee would certainly be brought to the notice of the Union Government,” he told reporters after a team of Telangana Ministers met him at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Raj Narasimha, Ministers K. Jana Reddy, D.Sridhar Babu, N.Uttam Kumar Reddy and MP Ponnam Prabhakar, besides MLC Md. Ali Shabbir met the PCC chief. They were told that the Committee would hold meeting with the State Congress leaders on August 19 and 20.
Mr. Satyanarayana said the delegations of the Telangana and Seemandhra Ministers would meet the committee members in New Delhi during the two days. On August 19, Telangana Ministers are scheduled to make a presentation to the committee while the next day, the Seemandhra delegation would meet the members.
Interestingly, Labour Minister Danam Nagender met the PCC president separately and told him that the Ministers hailing from Hyderabad would like to present a separate report to the committee. Minister D. Sridhar Babu said that the Telangana Ministers and leaders would be meeting on August 18 at Ministers’ Club HouseIn a related development, Seemandhra Ministers and elected representatives would meet Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC chief at the camp office on Saturday evening.
