NFBS: call to create awareness

March 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - MACHILIPATNAM:

The officials belonging to the Rural Development Authority and Revenue departments were directed to identify those families eligible for the Central government’s National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS). Krishna District Collector Babu A. learnt that barely nine families were benefited from the scheme in the district last year due to lack of awareness among the public.

Under the NFBS, the Centre would sanction Rs. 10,000 to the families who lost their breadwinner as per the listed guidelines. The officials were asked to identify eligible families and help them apply for the scheme.

Reviewing implementation of government guidelines at the sand reaches on the Krishna river bed, he made it mandatory for the licensed agencies to prefer e-bills pertaining to sand transportation for transparent sales.
