K.V. Satyanarayana, who assumed charge as Kadapa District Collector on Tuesday, said efforts would be taken to ensure that the welfare schemes reached all eligible beneficiaries.
Natural resources
Seeking the cooperation of officials for effectively implementing the government schemes, Mr. Satyanarayana asked them work with a team spirit without giving scope for irregularities. Kadapa district was endowed with abundant natural resources and 70,000 acres of land was available in the district for establishing industries, he told the media in Kadapa.
High income generating horticultural plantations would be given a fillip and technology should be used in farming, the Collector said and expressed concern at fall in mango crop yield. Two textile parks started at Mylavaram and Proddatur would be rejuvenated.
Soak pits
Emphasising the need for increasing groundwater levels, he said soak pits would be dug to save every drop of rainfall.
Priority to tree plantation
Tree plantation would be accorded priority as deforestation led to deficient rainfall.
Joint Collector Swathi Teotia, District Revenue Officer S. Sulochana Devi and others took part.
