Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday and was closeted with him for more than an hour.
According to official sources, Mr. Naidu was believed to have assured the Governor of his readiness for a discussion on inter-State disputes with his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao, either in the presence of the Governor or any neutral body or Government of India representatives.
After the ‘At Home’ reception at Raj Bhavan on Monday, the two Chief Ministers were advised by the Governor to sort out contentious issues between the States by directly holding discussions rather than delegating to respective ministers.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been at loggerheads on holding common EAMCET with the former seeking a joint test for students of both the States and the latter preferring to hold separate tests.
Both the States were also facing inter-State disputes on power and water sharing.
Mr. Naidu also explained to the Governor his vision on the development of the State and his plans to build a world class capital city.
Meanwhile, officials in the Chief Minister’s Office said that Mr. Naidu briefed the Governor on his visit to Davos and the interactions he had with industrialists and CEOs of various global companies.
The Governor was believed to have evinced interest to know the details of the Davos trip when Mr. Naidu attended the ‘At Home’ at Raj Bhavan. The officials described the meeting as a “courtesy call”.
