Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha has said that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy have been betraying the people of Seemandhra by not speaking up for what they want.
He accused both leaders of vying to take up the united AP campaign to improve their stature as politicians rather than working for the people’s interests. He sought to know why Seemandhra leaders were objecting to Telangana when they had no reservations about it in 2004 and 2009. Speaking after releasing the diary of Telangana Employees’ Association (TEA) here on Sunday, Mr. Rajanarasimha suggested that Seemandhra leaders could do some justice to their people by voicing their concerns during the debate on the Telangana Bill in the Assembly. Initial years would be very crucial for Telangana State and any narrow-minded thinking would go against achieving what people had been expecting, he said.
Reiterating that BJP was firm on supporting the Telangana Bill in Parliament, its State president G. Kishan Reddy cautioned Seemandhra people against the “theatrics” of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr. Jagan and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. He sought to know from Mr. Kiran Reddy why he had contested on Congress ticket when the party had a tie-up with TRS. Chairman of TJAC, M. Kodandaram, cautioned Telangana legislators against last-minute conspiracies by Seemandhra leaders. The TJAC will stage a dharna here on January 7 to expose the parties on Telangana issue. E. Rajender of TRS alleged that Seemandhra legislators were running away from the debate on Telangana Bill. President of TEA, C. Vittal, Congress MP R. Anand Bhaskar, political analyst V. Prakash, K.V. Visveshwar Reddy of Telangana Progressive Forum, TJAC leader M. Laxmaiah and others spoke.
