: Showing keen interest in the minute details of the interim government complex under construction here, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said he will personally do the “final value addition,’’ to the interiors of the six blocks now under construction.

On a surprise visit to the site on Tuesday morning, Mr. Naidu, accompanied by the Ministers P. Narayana, P. Pulla Rao and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, and Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar besides a host of senior CRDA officers, asked the Chief Engineer, Building and Development, L&T, T. Krishna to brief him on the progress every day.

“I want the entire work to be completed by the June-end. We need to create work stations for Ministers and their staff. I will move into my block in the first week of June itself,’’ Mr. Naidu told the engineers.

Taking a ladder to reach the first floor of Block 5, which would house Ministers and their staff, the Chief Minister asked the engineers to take keen interest in the minute details of the structure. The two construction firms, L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji, are building three blocks a piece, in a 20-acre site with a plinth area of 6 lakh square feet.

With the State government insisting that the staff at the Secretariat at Hyderabad should relocate to Guntur-Vijayawada by end of June, the Government has asked the construction firms to expedite work.

The Chief Minister has already declared that he along with the Ministers would work from the newly-constructed buildings from June. Construction of the Assembly would be completed by August.Earlier, a trade delegation from Japan inspected the works from an air-conditioned bus before heading back to Vijayawada.
