Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to take the virtual route to reach out to maximum number of voters.
The party has decided to deploy 20 vehicles, fitted with equipment required for creating the virtual impact. With time running out for the party to organise meetings addressed by Mr. Naidu in all the locations, the party has embarked upon the virtual 3D hologram technology route, successfully tested by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
“The vehicle itself will act as a mobile stage from where the 3D hologram image of the party president will be beamed in such a way that audience will feel as if Mr. Naidu is directly addressing them,” a representative of the TDP’s IT wing, who is supervising the arrangements, told The Hindu .
The first set of 10 vehicles is all set to hit the road on Wednesday and the remaining vehicles will join the campaign in the coming three to four days. The party is planning to organise at least 1,000 such virtual meetings before the campaign for the second phase comes to a close on May 5.
The TDP president has already prepared a few speeches that could be beamed in various locations. The TDP has applied for permissions and is waiting for a formal clearance from the EC. “The vehicles will leave for villages on Wednesday or at the most on Thursday,” a member of the campaign committee said.
Sources said the technology involving the LED (light emitting diode) hologram costs around Rs. 12 lakh for big stages in specific locations while it will be less than Rs. 3 lakh a day rent for the vehicles that have been deployed.
