YSR Congress MLA representing Guntur East in the Assembly Md. Mustafa’s overtures to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his visit on Friday raised many eyebrows.
Mr. Mustafa greeted the Chief Minister on arrival at the site where foundation stone was laid for My Fortune Hotel on the Ring Road. He was later called on to the stage by Mr. Naidu himself.
The MLA, a follower of Narsaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, has not been active in party programmes for the last few months and seems to have made up his mind to join the TDP.
Mr. Mustafa won by a majority of 5,000 votes over his rival Maddali Giridhar in the 2014 elections.
