More water released from Srisailam

As the inflow into the Srisailam reservoir jumped to 1,98,910 cusecs, a record 2,82,079 cusecs of water was being released through six gates on Saturday evening. While two gates were opened on Thursday to release 56,000 cusecs to Nagarjunasagar, engineers opened four more gates and released 1.67 lakh cusecs on Saturday morning. The reservoir level stood at 884.3 feet as against the FRL of 885 feet, and the outflow increased to 2,82,079 cusecs.

The present storage is 211.48 tmcft in the reservoir, whose gross storage capacity is 215.81 tmcft.

The inflow from Jurala reservoir rose to 1.64 lakh cusecs. Nearly 11,000 cusecs was being released from Pothireddipadu head regulator and 1,310 cusecs to Handri canal.

Power was being generated from the Srisailam Right and Left Power Houses by operating 13 generating units.
