All the accused in the quid pro quo investment cases against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and others, who were in judicial custody, are out on bail now with a special court here on Monday granting bail to former Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana.
Mr. Venkata Ramana, an accused the Vodarevu, Nizampatnam Ports & Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) aspect of the quid pro quo cases, was released from Chanchalguda prison later in the evening.
Granting bail to Mr. Venkata Ramana, Second Additional Special Judge for CBI Cases M.V. Ramesh directed the accused to furnish a security bond for Rs. 2 lakh and surety of another person with the like sum.
He was also told to submit a photo copy of his passport to the court.
The court granted bail to the former Minister on the grounds that the investigation into all the aspects of the case was complete as submitted by the investigating agency and there was no instance of his influencing or threatening witnesses. Mr. Venkata Ramana, who was on interim bail on health grounds till October 31, cut short his interim bail and went back into judicial custody on October 24 and filed a petition for a regular bail.
Mr. Venkata Ramana was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on May 24 last year.
