Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah directed housing officials on Sunday to expedite the construction of 3,000 houses in Kadapa Assembly constituency that were sanctioned between 2007 and 2009 but have remained incomplete so far.
Addressing a meeting with Project Director of Housing K. Sainath, housing engineers and Kadapa Municipal Commissioner D. John Samson, the Minister ordered serving of notices on the beneficiaries.
If beneficiaries did not resume construction within a stipulated time, the houses would be allotted to other eligible beneficiaries, he said.
Mr. Ahmedullah said 2,000 houses had been sanctioned in Kadapa through G.O. No. 44 under Rachchabanda scheme and 1,000 more through other modes.
Proposals were afoot to sanction 787 additional houses, he said, and told the officials to begin the process of identifying the beneficiaries.
The Minister sanctioned Rs.25 lakh from his funds to provide power supply and lay drinking water pipelines in Cherlopalle housing colony. He assured to resolve other problems after discussing it with Collector K. Sasidhar.
