The war of words between TRS and Congress leaders over Kadapa MP Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposed tour to Warangal district intensified today with a Minister finding fault with TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to stall the visit.

“Jagan has made it clear that his visit is purely personal without any political element. He is going to Warangal district only to console the families of those who committed suicides following the death of his father Y .S Rajasekhara Reddy. Why should he be stopped?,” Health Minister D. Nagender told reporters here.

“How can Chandrasekhar Rao say Jagan’s visit is an attack on Telangana. After all, this is democracy and how can anybody question the right of others to undertake a visit.”

When pointed out that 11 Congress MPs from Telangana had appealed to the high command to direct Jagan to stop his visit, he said it is not proper to stall the visit. “The high command will give a directive on the matter if necessary.”

About Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener C. Kodandaram’s opposition to the visit of Jagan, Nagender alleged that Kodandaram is a “mouthpiece” of the TRS chief.

Claiming that people of Telangana are opposed to the proposed tour of Jagan, who is against statehood to the region, Rao has yesterday asked the Andhra Pradesh Government to stop his visit. “If Jagan Mohan Reddy forces his way into Telangana, it will lead to terrible developments.”
