Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that it did not consider Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) untouchable if the two parties were in league to serve the notice of no-confidence against the State government.
The BJP did not expect MIM to be party to the notice but, if it did, the former would have no problem.
This was stated by BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy in reply to questions at a news conference on Wednesday.
Mr. Reddy said the BJP was always prepared to support whichever party gave the notice of no-confidence as the Congress government has lost moral authority to remain in power for its failures on all fronts.
The failures were compounded by a mere 1.96 per cent growth rate in the State.
He appealed to the Telugu Desam Party to reconsider not supporting the notice as a lot of responsibility was vested on it as the main Opposition party.
“Why should the party backtrack when it nursed a serious grouse against the government?” he asked.
On the Governor’s address to the joint session of Legislature, Mr. Reddy said it was a bundle of false to bail out a corrupt and inefficient government.
The Governor should have refused to read out what was given to him, he opined.
