MHA recognises AP as an advanced state in issue of online FIRs

Union Ministry of Home Affairs has recognised Andhra Pradesh as an ‘Advanced State’ in respect of issuing online FIRs and in issue of Integrated Investigation Forms (IIFs).

According to T. Krishna Prasad, IG of Police Computer Services and Standardisation, AP police had registered 82 per cent as state average in issuing the online FIRs using the web enabled eCOPS. The system enables police offiers to view the FIRs instantly and monitor the progress of investigation.

The best performers in issue of online FIRs in the state were Mahabubnagar and East Godavari districts with 98 per cent, Kadapa at 97 per cent, Srikakulam, Medak and GRP Vijayawada at 96 per cent. The Bottom of the Table performers were Kurnool at 48 per cent, Hyderabad city at 70 per cent, Warangal and Visakhapatnam city at 74 per cent, he added.
