Mercury levels rising across the State

Temperatures continued to soar across several parts of the State even as in Hyderabad, the mercury has, more or less, remained stable and hovered between 37 and 38 degree Celsius in the last few days.

On Friday, the city recorded a maximum of 38 degree Celsius while temperatures in other parts of Telangana - including Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Adilabad and Ramagundam were a degree hotter at 39 degree Celsius.

The Hyderabad MET Department officials pointed out that almost all the regions in Rayalseema had witnessed a steep rise in mercury and recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius. The areas in Rayalseema that recorded 40 degrees include Kurnool, Anantapur and Nandyal, while temperature at Tirupati was 39 degree Celsius.

Rentichintala in Coastal AP recorded a maximum of 40 degrees while the rest of the areas in the regions recorded temperatures between 36 and 38 degree Celsius.

According to the weather officials, the outlook for the next few days will largely remain dry in all the three regions with chances of thundershowers at few places.
