Presenting the award, Ms. Parvati said the award was instituted in memory of the actor-turned-politician who made a mark for his struggle to protect Telugu pride.
Jnanpeeth award winner Dr. C. Narayana Reddy recalled his association with the late NTR, the legendary actor, who portrayed the roles of hero and villain in the same frame with unparalleled ease.
