Snoring by their relatives may be a small issue for many to put up with. But it is not at all so for a 30-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday for killing his brother-in-law, allegedly over loss of sleep.

Losing his sleep rhythm, the enraged man took a log and allegedly fatally hit his sister’s husband, R. Prasad, in an SC Colony at the remote Dubagunta village in Prakasam district in the early hours of Friday.

A wailing Prasad’s wife complained to the police that her brother was depressed after his wife reportedly parted ways with him and was living separately. Her brother used to frequently quarrel with her husband, she said, adding he did the unexpected act of taking her husband’s life while she was fast asleep. The accused was remanded in custody by a magistrate court in Kanigiri on Saturday, police said.
