Man atop cellphone tower creates flutter

A man identified as Sanjeev Rao created a flutter when he climbed up a BSNL cellphone tower at Vasavi Nagar on Saturday morning, claiming that he was staging a protest.

Further, to the utter surprise of the people and police, his family members were staging a sit in protest below the tower claiming that Rao had resorted to the act in protest against the delay in granting of special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Soon, the place witness a considerable gathering, with the motorists stopped midway to watch the man atop the tower, leading to a traffic jam.

Police had a tough time in clearing the traffic on the Guntur-Mangalagiri Road. A fire tender was also stationed on the road.
