Reforms in education, research activities helped SPMVV gain the status, says Vice-chancellor

Festive mood prevailed at the Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) on Saturday, as the varsity was conferred with ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This recognition would enable the only women’s university in the State in strengthening its teaching and research quality, alongside improving the ongoing outreach activities.

A seven-member team, led by former V-C of Bharathidasan University K. Meena, visited the university in July to conduct the assessment on various parameters such as curriculum, research consultation and extension, and infrastructure.

Speaking to The Hindu , SPMVV Vice-chancellor V. Durga Bhavani and Registrar P. Vijayalakshmi attributed the achievement to the reforms taken by the varsity in higher education, research and a horde of other activities to improve their connect with the society.
