District Collector K. Sasidhar said on Monday that the people and farmers should prosper and be happy without problems in Sri Jayanama Telugu year.
Speaking after inaugurating Ugadi celebrations in Shilaparamam by lighting a lamp, the Collector said everyone should pray to the God to give good rainfall and result in good crop yields, as farmers were the backbone of the nation. Development of women was also vital, he said, and called upon officials to strive for making the district progress.
Recalling that Kadapa district stood third in SSC results last year, he hoped the district would top in SSC results this year due to efforts of teachers, although students lost three months due to anti-bifurcation movement. The municipal elections passed off peacefully due to the cooperation of one and all.
