Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asserted on Wednesday that his endeavour was to develop Andhra Pradesh to be among the top three States by 2022, as the best in the country by 2029 and as the best State in the world by 2050.
Administering the Maha Sankalpa Sabha pledge at the municipal stadium in Kadapa, Mr. Naidu said his goal was to ensure 15 per cent economic growth, increase per capita income from Rs. 1.07 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh, develop Amaravati as the best capital in the world, complete the Polavaram project, make the State drought free by river linkage, cent per cent electrification of remote and ST habitations, generate employment, and create assets.
Fifteen lakh agricultural pump sets would be replaced by energy-efficient pump sets worth Rs. 50,000 free of charge, besides sanctioning 30 lakh LPG connections, the Chief Minister said. Urging each person to plant 10 saplings, Mr. Naidu said the State would be developed into Haritandhrapradesh. The pledge included safeguarding Telugu culture and Kuchipudi, eliminating corruption, poverty, illiteracy, insanitation and pollution, ensuring communal harmony and curbing caste discrimination.
