Congress general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Tuesday said the Union Law and Justice Ministry would work out legal provisions on how to go about the decision to declare Hyderabad joint capital for 10 years.
Since Article 371 (D) had given special status to some parts of the existing A.P., the constitutional requirements on the subject would also be looked into by the Law Ministry, he said.
Talking to journalists after attending the first meeting of the Antony Committee, set up by the Congress to hear/redress grievances of Seemandhra leaders vis-à-vis Telangana creation, Mr. Singh said the committee would meet as many people as possible.
Process to take a few months
The process of creating Telangana would take a few months’ time, he said, and reiterated the steps to be followed for carving out the new State.
He appealed for maintaining the peace in the Seemandhra region as the party/government had taken note of the concerns of the people.
