Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu has announced enhanced package for the farmers of river front villages (Jareeb lands) who give land voluntarily for the new capital under the land pooling system.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Naidu announced major decisions after his discussions with the farmers and studying representations given by them for a better package.

As per the enhanced package, the ‘Jareeb’ farmers would get 1000 sq.yards of residential plot and 450 sq.yards of commercial plot instead of the earlier offer of 300 sq.yards.

Similar enhanced package was extended to farmers of semi-urban villages of Navuluru, Yerrabalem, Undavalli, Penumaka and Bethapudi surrounding Mangalagiri who would give their lands for the capital city. Going a step forward, government also announced Rs.30,000 annuity to farmers of uplands and Rs.50,000 a year to Jareeb farmers even if the land given by them was less than an acre.

Announcing that the dead line for giving consent for land pooling would end on night of February 28, he urged the farmers to understand that sooner the work commenced, faster would be the appreciation of their land value.

The Chief Minister made it clear that after the deadline, government could acquire land as per the law for the capital city.

The Chief Minister said annuity payments for the farmers who gave lands for land pooling would commence from March 1 at the rate of Rs.30,000 per acre for upland farmers and Rs.50,000 an acre for Jareeb farmers.

He said so far 25,000 acres of land was given by farmers under land pooling and another 7,000 to 8,000 acres was expected before the deadline. Farmers have already given their consent for giving 3,000 acres on Thursday.

Disclosing that April 30 would be the cut off date for handing over all lands to the CRDA to start preparatory work in May as the Master Plan would be released in June.

The Chief Minister also announced one time settlement of Rs.1.5 lakh under debt redemption to horticulture farmers and financial aid of Rs.50,000 to Rs.1 lakh to farmers of lime, guava, mango, jasmine etc.
