Lakshmipet victims

seek speedy justice

Members of the Lakshmipet Dalit Atmagourava Porata Committee and Kula Vivakasha Porata Committee on Thursday alleged that the government had failed to do justice to the victims of Lakshmipet where dalits were brutally murdered in June, 2012 when they sought legitimate rights over the land near Madduvalasa of Srikakulam district.

Several advocates and representatives of civil rights organisations participated in the relay hunger strike which would culminate on June 29 with the proposed protest at the camp office of Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu.

Mr. Ganesh said the government’s assurance of action against the culprits was not fulfilled following delay in establishment of an exclusive court to try the accused.
