Krishnam Raju prays at Pedda Dargah

Film actor and former Union Minister U.V. Krishnam Raju and his wife Syamala Devi visited Ameen Peer Dargah here, popular as Pedda Dargah, and offered prayers on Thursday.

Dargah secretary Syed Ameer welcomed the couple and explained to them the significance of the Dargah. Mr. Krishnam Raju prayed at the mazhars. Later speaking to newsmen, he expressed pleasure on fulfillment of his wish to visit the Dargah.

Asked if he would contest for Parliament, he said it was improper to speak politics in a religious place. They later visited the ancient Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta and offered prayers. Temple committee chairman B. Narasimhulu explained the temple’s historical background to the former Minister.

Mr. Krishnam Raju proceeded to Rajampet to take part in the BJP district-level meeting at Rajampet.
