Temple city to host civic reception to President of India

The temple city is all set to host a civic reception to President Ram Nath Kovind on his arrival here on a two-day pilgrimage on September 1.

On his arrival at the Tirupati international airport, he will be received by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at 3 p.m., from where he will be escorted to Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanur.

After offering prayers, Mr. Kovind will formally declare open, the general hospital attached to Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (SPMCW), functioning under Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS University).

At the civic reception and public meeting on SV Arts College grounds, he will lay the foundation stone for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Skill Training Academy, and give sanction letters to beneficiaries of Stand Up India programme and land purchase scheme. In the evening, the President will participate in the State dinner at Shilparamam.

The presidential entourage will motor up the Tirumala hills for night stay and offer prayers at Sri Venkateswara temple on September 2.
